The arrival of Alfred Russel Wallace's letter in June 1858 has thrown Charles Darwin into panic. This letter threatens to destroy years of work which began on five year voyage in southern hemisphere. Darwin spends the next 20 years painstakingly gathering evidence. He battles illness and the cruel reality of his own theory.
