"The man in Kenya who is driving this particular kind of campaign is Bishop Adoyo. He has got some extraordinary ideas, but very fundamentalist, very conservative. One point in a conservation with him on a telephone interview with one of the media, he put to me that what we are proposing is dangerous, depicting the evolutionary story is dangerous. I was somewhat shocked that it was dangerous. I said to Bishop, these things have been dead before several millions of years, how could they be dangerous? And the response was that it tells a very plausible story and the youth are in danger of believing it. And therefore it is best not told." Richard Leakey
