Hawking (2013)

Hawking is the extraordinary story of the most popular and inspirational physicist probably since Einstein which offers an unique access to Hawking's private life and features Stephen Hawking himself describing his life and struggles with Lou Gehrig's disease in his own words for the first time.

Famous theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking has unlocked new pathways of discovery and inspired the millions around the world. He was born in Oxford, England on the three hundred anniversary of the death of Galileo on January 8, 1942. At 17 years old he entered the Oxford University. In 1962, Hawking moved to Cambridge University for a PhD in cosmology and one year later he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (or Lou Gehrig's disease).

In his latest book, The Grand Design, Hawking explained that "there is no need to invoke God to set the Universe going." He later quoted "There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark." and hosted the first episode of Curiosity series called Did God Create Universe?.
