Cave of Forgotten Dreams (2011)

In 1994, three explorers made an amazing discovery in Southern France. They found a cave (later would be called Chauvet) which had been perfectly sealed for tens of thousand years. It contained cave paintings dating back about 32000 years. In fact, they are the oldest paintings ever discovered. More than twice as old as any other. Some findings in the cave hint that these people had a religious concept evolving the transformation between humans and animals.

By the unprecedented endorsment of French Ministry of Culture, the filmmakers achieved to film the inside of the cave which had to be shutdown. A rare opportunity to see the mysteries behind the extraordinary paintings which are a key to being human and a reflection of our evolution.
