Requiem (2006)

Requiem is the true story Anneliese Michel (as Michaela in the film) who suffered epileptic seizures. Her mind was filled up with the obsessed, pious mother's fanatical ideas. She denied the medical help which was offered by her friend Hanna who is one of the voice of the reason in the film and instead she asked for a help from parochial priest and at the end truly believed that she was possessed.

There are hundreds of horror movies about this subject, but this is the only movie that takes the issue seriously. In all those movies priests are shown as saviours, in Requiem they manipulate the protogonist and provoke her illness as representatives of dogma. This is a slow paced movie with powerful acting that makes every scene convincing and intense and it makes every other exorcism movie a parody.
