The Fatwa - Salman's Story
    25 years ago, the Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa against the British writer Salman Rushdie for his controversial novel The Satanic Verses and condemned him to death. Rushdie lived in hiding fearing for his life for years. During his hiding, the violence escalated all around the world. The Italian translator was knifed, the Japanese translator was killed, the Norwegian publisher was shot.

    This was an exercise of freedom of speech for the whole world. Now for the first time we look into the inside story of Rushdie and how it felt to be sentenced to death.
